The rijst tafel is a very elaborate version of the still popular “nasi campur” (mixed rice) dish, which is served in most Indonesian restaurant today.
During the Dutch era, as people prospered, their taste became more and more opulent. Our traditional “rijst tafel” is an authentic version and consists of a sixteen course feast served at the table.
